Amanda Young Case Study
Amanda approached Fredericks in November 2016 in order to fund the development of a website and promotional material for her will writing business. As a former mortgage adviser, she was offered the opportunity to retrain after losing her job in the banking crisis, and she knew exactly what she wanted to do. Having been a witness for a friend’s will and enjoying the process so much she decided to look into becoming a will writer herself. Over two years Amanda completed a rigorous distance trainingcourse and took her entry exams to become an accredited member of The Society of Will Writers in 2014.
She has been writing wills now for nearly 3 years and loves meeting people from all walks of life. Amanda says “No day is ever the same”. Over time she has expanded her range of services and now offers powers of attorney, probate /estate management and also business wills for her clients.
As a small business with limited overheads she offers a fast and professional service for her clients at a an affordable price point. Personal wills start from £95, for an individual will, and she also offers secure storage when the will is complete.
She was motivated to apply to Fredericks after trading for about a year when she heard a talk on the work the Foundation does at her local Par networking group. At this point she was trading and feeling more positive about the value of her work but was lacking the confidence and inspiration to invest in marketing her business more aggressively and ‘really go for it’. Thanks to Fredericks her loan application was successful and she is receiving support from one of our business mentors. As a result is she is growing her business steadily and winning more and more clients.
