Fredericks Wessex
Wessex Reinvestment Society began lending to start-up and existing businesses in Devon, Dorset and Somerset in 2004. With a mission to encourage enterprise in this large rural area WRS granted loans to over 90 small businesses enabling many entrepreneurs to get started and existing businesses to expand.
On 1st April 2009 WRS established a partnership with the Fredericks Foundation - Fredericks Wessex was born and is now evolving into a vibrant new lending organisation in the West Country. Loans are available from £500 to £10,000 per business over terms from 6 months to 5 years at competitive interest rates.
With the help of the business community, local accountants and experienced entrepreneurs, Fredericks Wessex will help coordinate local advisory boards and loan panels to support an enterprise culture.
In the current economic climate Community Loan Funds will play an increasingly important role in funding new and established businesses and combating financial exclusion. The Fredericks Wessex strategy is to give local people the opportunity to make a positive change in their lives. Fredericks Wessex will help rural communities benefit from regeneration and economic development by encouraging local enterprise and social enterprise to flourish. We consider the way to do that well is to establish good relationships with our clients, keep in touch throughout and be available when needed.
