Welcome to Fredericks Somerset

Fredericks Somerset was launched in February 2010 at the Taunton Racecourse with enthusiastic support from local businesses, the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and from West Somerset and Somerset County Councils.We have an active Advisory Board which meets quarterly and Lending Panels have been held in Sparkford and Taunton. Some excellent businesses have already been supported but we are keen to hear from business people of all ages who have a solid plan but lack the finance to get a business off the ground. We want the impact of the loan fund to reach all areas of the county, particularly those hardest hit by the effects of the recession.

After being made redundant in 2009, Peter worked on his business plan to set up as a licensed waste carrier for both commercial and domestic waste. He attended the Business Link workshops www.businesslink.gov.uk and worked with the Princes Trust, unfortunately they were unable to provide Peter with the start up capital required and so Peter became Fredericks Wiltshire's first client.
