We are Juno
Transforming residential care for young people
Homes where young people thrive
Far too many children have a poor experience when they become looked after, in a sector dominated by profit driven, private equity backed providers.
We are Juno is a not for profit social enterprise in the Liverpool City Region developing a network of high quality local homes where children feel safe, supported and loved – transforming opportunities for children growing up in the care system. Everything they do is underpinned by their Experts by Experience – care experienced young people who have a formalised role in their decision making process and who make sure the Juno homes and approach to care is informed by those with lived experience of the challenges they are addressing.
How We are Juno makes an impact
Juno currently has 3 beautiful residential homes on Wirral with a fourth under renovation in Runcorn and plans to roll out a further 6 homes within the Liverpool City Region. Quality of relationships is central to their trauma informed approach to care and they provide thorough and excellent training to their team who are passionate about providing brilliant care for young people.
Juno deliver wider impact and sector wide change through collaboration and actively sharing their learnings to influence how others care for children. They will reinvest future surpluses into early support for families to reduce the future number of children needing to be placed in residential care.
Where Fredericks comes in
Juno needed social investment to support the roll out of their homes. Fredericks invested £50,000 through a Revenue Participation Agreement alongside £585,000 from Esmee Fairbairn Foundation. Earlier funding had been secured from local government and social investors.
